RaceTimingApp for the Racers

The RaceTimingApp has another version designed just for the racers. This version allows racers

  • To look up the results immediately after they cross the finish line;
  • To find out race information such as parking, start time, packet pick-up location and so on.

Once a racer signs up for your race, they will download the Racer’s RaceTimingApp.  Below we show the app screenshots that were designed for the Husky Hustle Race. If you would like to customize the Racer’s app for your race, it is certainly possible. We can create a specialized version of the Racer’s app that would have extra information and functionality for your race. Contact us at support@racetimingapp.com.

How Racer’s version of the RaceTimingApp Works?

The app has three main views: Race Information, Your Result, and Overall Results.

Race Information View

The race information view provides information about the Race Registry, Location, Race day, Packet pick-up, and Awards. The Registration view provides information about the registration link, dates, and fees. The Race location provides a map view of the race start line. The Race Day provides information about race day registry and parking. Packet pick-up view specifies when and where the racers can pick up their race packages. And, finally the Awards view lists the awards for age categories and overall winners.

Your Result View

This view allows the racer to find out his/her ranking and finish time immediately after she/he completes the race. The racer does not have to wait until every other racer crosses the finish line to get his/her result.  Since all that matters for a racer’s ranking is how many people finished ahead of that particular racer, we can immediately announce the results for that racer once she/he completes the race.

Overall Results View

This view presents the results for all of the racers. While the race is still going on, it has results for the completed racers. As the racers pass the cross line and race ends, this view holds the results for all racers.

In case you are wondering if there is any possibility that a racer can interact with the race timing functionalities provided by the RaceTimingApp, for example changing his/her result and ranking,  the answer is absolutely not. The Racer’s version of the app does not even have the functionality necessary for timing a race. So your racers have no way to change their finish times or rankings.  Only you and your race crew have access to the RaceTimingApp that provides the full functionality needed for timing your race.
